Issue Position

I will balance the budget by ending tax breaks for billionaires and ending trillion dollar foreign wars. We need to end the occupation of 72 countries, and instead we need to wage a war against unemployment. Although the stimulus package saved some jobs, it was ultimately a bad deal for middle class families as most of the benefit went to shipping jobs over seas. Giving billion dollar bailouts to Wall Street speculators, whose reckless gambling caused our economic collapse, only makes the problem worse. Rich powerbrokers were given billions. But the rest of us continue to lose our jobs and homes. The next stimulus package needs to be bottom up instead of top down. It is time to start investing in America again. I will balance the budget by demanding a better deal for middle class families.
